Update: Teen arrested in deadly La Quinta Cove shooting

Update:

Riverside County Sheriff Detectives identified a suspect and later located him during a traffic stop near the intersection of Santa Fe south of Acacia in the city of Hemet.

The suspect was identified as a 17-year-old black male juvenile from La Quinta. The suspect was booked into Juvenile Hall in Temecula for murder.

Previous:

A 20-year-old man was shot and killed in La Quinta, authorities said Saturday.

The victim was identified as Ryan Thomas Sniffin, of Joshua Tree, who died at a hospital from his injuries, Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Lt. Jeff Buompensiero said.

The shooting occurred in the 51900 block of Avenida Ramirez at 6:40 p.m. Friday, Buompensiero said.
