Man airlifted to hospital after being found unresponsive on hiking trail
Cal Fire has rescued a hiker in distress on the Art Smith Trail in an unincorporated area of La Quinta Wednesday morning.
Firefighters got the call just after 10:00 a.m. that a man was unconscious and unresponsive about 30 minutes up the popular trail. Rescue crews found an elderly man who was unconscious and unresponsive. They airlifted him to the hospital with major injuries, according to officials.
The man’s name hasn’t been released and authorities haven’t said how he was hurt.
