Valley restaurants booked ahead of busy weekend
Getting a reservation for Valentine’s Day in the valley may be nearly impossible at this point.
“We’ve been booked on Valentine’s Day for a good two to three weeks. We had only 5pm and 10pm reservations to sell the last few nights,” said Michael Beckman, chef and owner of Workshop in Palm Springs
Tasha and Carmody Homan are in town from New York celebrating their 10-year anniversary. They snagged a seat for Saturday at the Riviera a few weeks ago.
“We prepared in advance right?” Carmody Homan said, looking at his wife.
“Yes, I feel pretty special,” Tasha Homan said.
Le Vallauris added an extra shift so lovebirds can squeeze in for an early 3pm dinner.
Greg Butterfield, owner of Copley’s in Palm Springs says he’s bringing in extra tables just to accommodate the weekend rush.
“We’re packed on Saturday and then Friday, Sunday and Monday I have 5pm and 9pm reservations open,” Butterfield said.
Some places we called just had a busy dial tone.
The best option for Saturday may be what Deanna Martin and her group plan to do: stay in and play chef at home.
“I just knew it was going to be a zoo on Valentine’s Day,” Martin said. “It’s going to be packed and we didn’t want to be waiting in lines to be served.”
