3.7 quake rattles the Valley

3.7 quake rattles the Valley. According to USGS the quake struck at 5:18 p.m. Wednesday evening, and was centered 13 miles south of Twentynine Palms.

There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries as a result of the quake says Riverside County fire spokeswoman April Newman said.

Crews at county fire stations throughout eastern Riverside county moved their trucks out of station bays and into driveways as a precaution, which is standard practice after any quake measuring 3.5 or higher, Newman said.

Moving the trucks from the bays ensures they won’t be damaged by faulty structures or aftershocks, she said.
