Pedestrian hit by car while crossing road in Indio
A man was hit by a car while crossing a road in Indio Friday night.
It happened near Madison Street and Avenue 48 in front of the Sunnyside Estates. According to the Indio Police Department, the man in his 20’s was jay walking, crossing Madison, when he was hit by the car.
The driver stopped immediately and cooperated with police. The pedestrian was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center with broken bones and major injuries.
Madison is expected to be closed between Highway 111 and Avenue 48 until midnight or so.
