Street racing may have led to Cathedral City wreck

Five people were taken to local hospitals after a crash on Ramon Road.

Police say an white Infiniti and tan Acura type car appeared to be racing westbound on Ramon.

The Infiniti lost control, crashing into a Nissan, which in turn crashed into a Camry.

The Camry ran off the road, and into a palm tree before bursting into flames. The palm tree also caught fire. Three people in the Camry, two people in the Nissan were taken to local hospitals with unknown injuries.

No word if any charges will be filed against the driver of the Infiniti.

Police are searching for the driver of the tan Acura. If you have any information, contact Cathedral City police at 760-770-0300.
