Man accused of burglarizing church thrift store

A man has been arrested on charges of burglarizing the Southwest Church Thrift Store located at 82970 Requa Avenue in Indio.

Authorities said 39-year-old Lorenzo Valenzuela was taken into custody early Friday morning after an officer with the Indio Police Department identified him from the store’s surveillance video.

Valenzuela is accused of stealing $2,793 from the thrift store on Thursday, March 5. Officers said he stole cash and property.

He was arrested on the 82-700 block of Highway 111 for burglary. Officers said none of the stolen items were recovered when he was taken into custody.
