Valley business owner accused of owing former employees back wages closes shop

A valley business that once made headlines for the wrong reasons is in the news once again.

An eviction notice now hangs in the window at Performance Golf Carts on Varner Road in Thousand Palms.

The doors are locked, and another sign in the window indicates the business has moved.

However, the owner of the business told CBS Local 2 Wednesday that he has filed for bankruptcy.

We first spoke with Tim Ramsey last summer after employees who once worked for him claimed he owed them back pay.

Ramsey told CBS Local 2 he is sorry for “not paying what he owes others”

He said he is good at working on golf carts, but admitted he “wasn’t good at running the business”.
