Family says runaway DHS teen has returned home

The family of a Desert Hot Springs teenager who ran away from home said their daughter is back home after “five gut-wrenching days.”

The girl ran away from home just before midnight on Sunday, according to the Desert Hot Springs Police Department. Officers put out an alert to the community a few days after the girl still hadn’t been heard from.

Her family was even more concerned when the girl’s Facebook page had been deleted. They weren’t sure if it was her doing, or if someone else was trying to cut off contact.

Her family posted on a Facebook page, that was created to bring the girl back home, that she was reunited with her mother late Thursday night.
