Friends reach out for help after Indio family displaced by fire

Friends of an Indio family are asking for help after the family was displaced by a fire that sparked at their home last week.

The fire happened just before midnight last Wednesday in the 81000 block of Avenida Gonzalez. It didn’t take long for firefighters to contain the blaze but the garage and two bedrooms were damaged.

Fire officials said four people were displaced from the fire and two of them were treated for injuries; one suffered a minor burn to the foot.

The Ison family is renting a temporary home for at least the next six months while repairs are made. Friends said the Isons have given so much to the community that they wanted to reach out for help.

They’ve set up a Go Fund Me account called Dave and Ruby’s Fire Damage Fund for anyone who wants to make a donation to help the family out during this troubling time.
