Martha’s Village and Kitchen celebrates 25 years

Martha’s Village and Kitchen is celebrating a milestone of service in the Valley.

It’s commemorating 25 years of providing homeless services.

Saturday the organization held an event to say thank you to supporters, staff, family, friends, and community members who have helped the non-profit over the years.

There was music, food, face painting a petting zoo and games for the whole family.

“This past year we’ve served a quart of a million meals to the homeless we’ve surpassed our expectations to where we are now,” said Elena Rosenthal, spokesperson for Martha’s Village and Kitchen.

The founders of Martha’s began serving meals to their homeless neighbors back in 1990.

Since then, its grown into a full- scale operation helping the homeless get back on their feet with not just food and shelter, but helping people become self-sufficient with dignity and respect.
