Person hit, killed by car on I10 in Banning

A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle and killed on Interstate 10 in Banning Saturday.

The victim was struck about 8:15 p.m. on the eastbound side of the freeway west of Highland Springs Avenue, said Jennifer Fuhrman of the Riverside County Fire Department.

Traffic on the freeway was completely stopped after the crash, Fuhrman said.
