Moreno Valley man arrested on murder charges
A 25-year-old Moreno Valley man has been arrested on suspicion of murdering a 19-year-old man on April 21.
Investigators with the Riverside County sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit said Hector Martinez was arrested on Monday, six days after Rudy Martinez was shot to death in the 24000 block of Postal Avenue in Moreno Valley.
The suspect and the victim are not related to each other, deputies said in the release.
Rudy Martinez was brought to the hospital by friends the night he was shot, but later died from his injuries. Deputies said he was shot just before 8 p.m.
Investigators identified Hector Martinez as the alleged shooter and arrested him at on Monday at 10 a.m. He was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside on murder charges.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Investigator De La Torre with the Central Homicide Unit at 951-955-2777.
