Vandals break into an estimated 120 post office boxes in 29 Palms

Deputies with the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Station are investigating after someone vandalized dozens of post office boxes at the 29 Palms Post Office over the weekend.

Officials said the vandalism occurred sometime between Saturday night and early Sunday morning. The suspect(s) broke into an estimated 120 post office boxes. Mail was thrown all over the post office.

Deputies are assisting the Postal Inspector and the investigation is ongoing. Officials didn’t say anything about mail theft. At this time, it’s only being investigated as a case of vandalism.
