17-year-old arrested for burglarizing multiple homes

Officers with the Palm Desert Burglary Suppression Unit arrested a teenager on Thursday after finding stolen property from residential burglaries that occurred in Palm Springs and Desert Hot Springs.

Authorities said they served a search warrant at the teen’s residence in the 15000 block of Avenida Manzana in Desert Hot Springs and found stolen electronics, jewelry and firearms.

Evidence from the past burglaries was discovered in addition to property from a third burglary that occurred on May, 2 near the 16000 block of Avenida Atezada, officers said in the release.

The investigation into the stolen property began on April, 28 after a home was burglarized near the 16000 block of Avenida Mirola in Desert Hot Springs.

The 17-year-old was arrested for burglary and possession of stolen property. He was booked into the Riverside County Juvenile Hall in Indio.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about the burglaries is asked to call Deputy Aldrich with the Palm Desert Sheriff’s Department at 760-836-1623.
