2 arrested in connection to multiple residential burglaries

Two Desert Hot Springs men were arrested on Thursday after a search warrant revealed stolen property from multiple residential burglaries throughout the Coachella Valley.

Grant Ewing, 19, and 18-year-old Taj Harvin were taken into custody after the Palm Desert Burglary Suppression Unit searched a residence in the 66000 block of 5th Street in Desert Hot Springs.

Police said they found tens of thousands of dollars worth of stolen property from the cities of Palm Desert, La Quinta and from the unincorporated area of Bermuda Dunes. Stolen items included electronics, jewelry, watches, televisions, computers, documents, checkbooks and cash.

Ewing was arrested on charges of residential burglary and possession of stolen property, Harvin was taken into custody for possession of stolen property.

They were both booked into the Riverside County Jail in Indio.

Police located the suspects from the description of a 1994 black Mercedes that was seen on May, 2 during the burglary of a home in the 76000 block of Oklahoma Avenue in Palm Desert.

Police continue to investigate the case and anyone with information is asked to call Corporal Lopez with the Palm Desert Sheriff’s Department at 760-836-1674.
