Toddler rescued after near-drowning in Palm Desert

A toddler is recovering after a near-drowning in Palm Desert Thursday night.

Riverside County firefighters and emergency responders were called to the 73000 block of Juniper Street around 6:40 p.m.

Officials said the toddler was found in the pool of a residence and CPR was initiated before emergency crews arrived to the scene. The toddler was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Cal Fire officials said the toddler was conscious, breathing and alert while being transported to the hospital.

There was no word on who delivered CPR to resuscitate the child.
