5 people injured in truck vs Sunbus crash in Mecca

Cal fire says 5 people were injured after a Sunbus and truck collided on 66th Avenue near the 86 Expressway in Mecca.

The accident happened just after 3:00 p.m. near the entrance of the AM/PM. Cal Fire says that 4 passengers on the bus sustained minor injuries, and one patient in the vehicle required minor extrication and sustained moderate injuries.

The California Highway Patrol says a preliminary investigation revealed that the bus was traveling westbound on 66th Avenue, when it approached the entrance to the AM/PM, a truck failed to yield while making a left turn into the gas station, clipping the front of the bus.

The roadway was shut down for about an hour as crews cleared the roadway.
