Good but not great news at the pump this holiday

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in the Inland Empire dropped today to its lowest amount for a Memorial Day since 2010, decreasing one-tenth of a cent to $3.884.

The average price in Riverside and San Bernardino counties has fallen eight times in the last nine days after rising 29 times in 30 days to its highest amount since Aug. 2, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 5.6 cents less than one week ago and 23.5 cents lower than one month ago. However, it is 55.6 cents more than one month ago.

The prices are dropping because “supply issues seem to have been resolved,” said Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s corporate communications manager.
