Fire could be seen for miles in high desert

A travel trailer is destroyed and several goats are dead after a fire in Joshua Tree this afternoon.

The fire happened on Moonlight Mesa Road around 3:45 p.m. Tuesday.

Firefighters found the trailer fully involved in flames and several goats were caught between the trailer and a home on the property.

Other goats on the property were saved.

It took firefighters about 15 minutes to knock down the flames that could be seen for miles.

No people were injured in the fire.

Damage is estimated at $10,000.
