$35 million worth of cocaine seized in Southern California drug bust

Six people were arrested and hundreds of pounds of cocaine were seized in what authorities are calling one of the largest local drug busts in recent memory.

Officers with a multi-jurisdictional task force raided a house in Santa Fe Springs on Wednesday, arresting three and uncovering more than 560 pounds of cocaine. They were led to the home after a search of a car the day before in San Bernardino turned up 120 pounds of the drug and led to three arrests.

David King of the task force says the cocaine belonged to the Mexican Sinaloa cartel and had a street value of more than $35 million.

King says surveillance on the drug operation began last month.

Reports three young children were also found in the house and taken by child services.
