Motorcyclist identified after deadly crash on Hwy 74

A motorcyclist died Thursday night after crashing on Highway 74 at Big Horn Drive, about two miles south of Vista Point.

The Riverside County Coroner’s Office identified the man as 37-year-old Travis Glauser of Palm Desert.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Glauser was driving a Triumph motorcycle eastbound on Hwy. 74 at about 7:30 p.m. when, for unknown reasons, he lost control and was thrown from the bike.

Glauser died at the scene.

After he was thrown from the bike, the motorcycle ended up colliding with a guard rail and split in half.

The exact cause of the crash hasn’t been determined yet and CHP continues to investigate. News Channel 3 and CBS Local 2 will deliver updates as soon as they’re available.

All lanes of Highway 74 were shut down in the area for two hours Thursday night while emergency crews were on scene.
