Firefighters battle mobile home fire in Indio

Two structures were destroyed after a fire in Indio.

The fire started at about 3:00 p.m. in a smaller structure next to a mobile home on Avenue 43 near Burr Street in Indio. Twenty-nine firefighters were called out.

Two fire fighters had minor injuries due to the heat. One was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

One person has been displaced because of the fire. They are receiving assistance from the Red Cross.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
