Pilot identified after deadly plane crash in Blythe
A pilot killed when a crop-duster plane he was flying crashed into an alfalfa field near Blythe last week was identified Wednesday as a 47-year-old resident of Yuma, Arizona.
Traver Buckelew was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which was
reported at 10:48 a.m. on June 2, Riverside County coroner’s officials said.
The plane was spraying herbicide when it crashed into the alfalfa field
near the intersection of Stephenson Boulevard and Neighbours Boulevard, Sgt. Kent Krisell said.
No other injuries were reported.
