Power restored in DHS after SCE equipment upgrade

Southern California Edison has removed its power outage alert for Desert Hot Springs after an equipment upgrade knocked out electricity for 437 customers for several hours on Monday.

The outage occurred around 8 a.m. SCE’s estimated time of restoration was 5 p.m. but the outage alert was removed sometime around 4 p.m.

SCE says the equipment upgrade is to enhance reliability.

With temperatures expected to reach 112 degrees, it wasn’t the best day to be without power. As we get closer to summer, it’s always good to be aware of Cooling Center locations in case you need a way to beat the heat.
