A strong ridge of high pressure will bring potentially excessive heat to the lower deserts through the end of week, possibly extending into the weekend.
High temperatures 108-114 will be possible through Friday. Some weather models indicate even warmer weather will be possible over the weekend. A heat advisory will likely be issued for Tuesday onward indicating high temperatures expected above 112.
Avoid strenuous outdoor activity if possible. If youhave to be outside drink plenty of non-alcoholic, non-caffeinated fluids. Wear lightweight loose-fitting clothing. Wear a hat to shield yourself from the sun and use sun screento reduce possible sunburn. Take advantage of air conditioningand shade if possible. Never leave children or pets in enclosedvehicles, even briefly.

HEALTH ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDS SCHEDULING FREQUENT REST BREAKS
IN SHADED OR AIR CONDITIONED ENVIRONMENTS. ANYONE OVERCOME BY
