Pedestrian identified after deadly collision
A man was killed Thursday night after being hit by a car near Cathedral City.
The coroner’s office identified the man as 53-year-old Jeffery Perry. Officials don’t know where he’s from. The collision happened around 11:15 p.m.
Perry was hit by a Chevy sedan on Palm Drive, just east of the on-ramp to eastbound I-10, the coroner said.
According to police, Perry was crossing the street but wasn’t in a crosswalk when he was struck by the car. The driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the police.
Officers are expected to release more information Friday as the investigation continues.
