Joshua Tree man arrested for lewd acts with juvenile
A 68-year-old man from Joshua Tree is accused of inappropriate contact with a female juvenile.
Detectives with the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Station said Gregory Howlind was arrested Tuesday at 4 p.m. in the 61000 block of Division Street in Joshua Tree. Authorities began investigating Howlind after receiving a report of lewd acts with a child in late March, according to the release.
A warrant was issued and Howlind was taken into custody at his home on Division Street.
He was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail on $250,000 bail.
Authorities haven’t elaborated on the investigation, but News Channel 3 and CBS Local 2 will deliver updated information as the case moves forward in court.
