2 arrested for burglary of Coachella shoe store

Two men were arrested over the weekend in connection to the burglary of over $1,600 worth of items from a Coachella shoe store, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

Antonio Lopez, 24, of Salton City and Angel Roldan Lopez, 20, of Coachella, were arrested for suspicion of commercial burglary, said Sgt. Paul Heredia of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

On Sunday at 5:27 a.m., sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of a commercial burglary in progress at the WSS Shoe Store, located at the 50000 block of Harrison Street in Coachella, said Heredia.

A witness told police that two men entered the business through a broken window and carried out multiple items, including shoe boxes for Air Jordan sneakers.

Police located the two men walking near Suncrest Street and Westerfield Way with the stolen items still in their possession, said Heredia. Both men were booked into the Riverside County Jail in Indio.
