Palm Springs Tram adds Labor Day hours

The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway will offer extended hours for Labor Day, while other summertime hours promotions come to an end.

On Monday, the first tram up will depart at 8 a.m. and the last tram up at 8 p.m. Trams depart every 30 minutes on the hour and half-hour, with the last tram down scheduled for 9:45 p.m.

Meanwhile, the Tramway’s new “Early Fridays” program ended Friday, meaning next Friday’s first tram up will leave at 10 a.m., instead of 8 a.m.

Saturday also marks the end of the “Summer Hours” promotion, which offered later hours on Fridays and Saturdays. Beginning next week, the last tram up will leave at 8 p.m. and the last one down at 9:45 p.m.

The tramway is billed as the world’s largest rotating tram car, carrying 80 passengers along the cliffs of Chino Canyon in about 10 minutes.
