Update: Coroner id’s victim of Palm Springs pool death

The Riverside County Coroner’s Office has identified the man who died after being found floating face down in a Palm Springs pool as 87-year old William Pursley of Palm Springs.

According to Palm Springs Police, the man was discovered in the pool at a home located on the 2600 Block of Canyon South Drive in Palm Springs Monday morning.

According to Palm Springs Police, they got the call of a possible drowning around 11:40 a.m. A person called police after discovering the man unconscious in the pool. He was reportedly swimming alone says Police. The man was taken out of the water and transported to an area hospital but he died during transport.

Palm Springs Police say the incident does not appear to be related to any type of crime.
