Woman bit by rattlesnake on I10

A 42-year-old woman was rushed to a hospital Friday after she was bitten by a rattlesnake on the side of Interstate 10 in Desert Center.

The victim was bitten on an ankle about 7:25 p.m. when she stopped on the side of eastbound Interstate 10 east of Ford Dry Lake, Jennifer Fuhrman of the Riverside County Fire Department said.

The rattlesnake was about two feet long, Fuhrman reported.

She was in moderate condition when taken to a hospital, Fuhrman said.
