Update: Watch News Conference Video, 2 Dead in random shootings in Banning

Update: Police confirmed 2 people are being treated in the hospital and 2 are dead after the shootings.

Update: Police believe suspect is a Hispanic male in his 30s. He is in custody. Will be releasing more information later.

Banning Police Chief Alex Diaz.

11:36 a.m. – Shots fired John Street. Police found one male deceased in a vehicle, the passenger was injured. A white SUV was described as the suspect’s car.

11:43 a.m. – Received a call of shots fired from one car to another at San Gorgonio and Nicolet. One person was hurt withglass fragments. The suspect was described as a Hispanic male wearing a blue shirt driving a white SUV.

11:53 a.m. – A third call for service at AM PM. A victim was assaulted multiple times with a gun or shotgun. The suspect car involved was a white SUV. Police do have video from the AM PM surveillance.

12:13 p.m. – At 200 E Lincoln, a person was found deceased. Police do not know if this incident is related to the previous incidents.

Shortly after that in Beaumont, the suspect matching the description was located and arrested.

“It seems like it is random,” said Banning Police Chief Alex Diaz.”No indication there were multiple suspects.”

Two people are dead in random shootings in Banning, according to Banning interim city manager Dean Martin.

Martin says there are four locations were shots were fired Saturday afternoon. At two locations, people where killed. A third location, there were minor injuries.

Banning Police say situation is no longer active and will give out further details during a news conference at 5:00 p.m.

Riverside County Sheriffs Department tells us they are assisting Banning Police in multiple locations.

Several residents have told us they have been told to stay inside.

Few other details are being released.
