EB I-10 ramp at Jefferson will be closed 5 days for bridge construction

The Riverside County Transportation Department announced a five-day closure of the eastbound I-10 on-ramp and off-ramp at Jefferson Street that will take place Monday, October 26 through Friday, October 30 due to bridge construction.

The full closure of the on and off-ramps begins each day at 6 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m., officials said in a release.

Detour for closure of EB I-10 on-ramp at Jefferson Street:

Go east on Varner Rd. to Monroe St.
Turn Right on Monroe St.
Turn left at EB I-10 on-ramp

Detour for closure of EB I-10 off-ramp at Jefferson Street:

Go east on I-10 and exit at Monroe St.
Turn left on Monroe St.
Turn left at Ave. 42/Varner Rd. back to Jefferson St.

The modernized Jefferson Street freeway interchange is expected to improve mobility and ease traffic issues in and around Indio, according to Riversid County Supervisor John Benoit.

The $42.3 million construction project was approved in February.
