Run With Los Muertos 5k in Coachella Oct. 30

Race week of the 3rd Annual Run with Los Muertos has arrived, and Old Town Coachella is preparing itself to host hundreds of runners and thousands of visitors for the night festivities on Friday, Oct. 30. The event begins at 6 p.m. with a diverse pre-run ceremony of both traditional and modern music and dance selections. The race kicks off at 7 p.m.

The annual 5k night run will start on 6th St. in front of the Chandi USA Stage and will follow a route through the Pueblo Viejo District of Coachella. Runners and spectators can enjoy art installations, music, a beer garden, food, face painting, and glow gear for runners.

Awaiting participants at the finish line will be a block party and art walk with two stages of live performances and DJ’s.

Raices Cultura, the benefiting organization, will create large scale art installations and altars. Activities for children of all ages will be offered in the Imagine School Kid Zone and by participating partner organizations.

Following in an ancient tradition, participants are encouraged to run in honor of a passed loved one or “muerto.” Who will you run for?
