Escape Room opening postponed in Palm Springs

A fun-filled event in Palm Springs that was scheduled to open right before Halloween has been hit with some hurdles, delaying the grand opening for a number of people who had already booked reservations.

Organizers of ‘Escape Room Palm Springs‘ said they’re sorry to postpone their grand opening on October 30, but a power surge took down all of their electronics and now their entire electrical infrastructure needs to be updated.

According to a release from Kathleen Bennett with Escape Room Palm Springs, if you booked a room, you will receive a full refund. When the facility is ready to open, people who have already booked a room will be offered a 50 percent discount for the inconvenience.

The concept of an Escape Room: you have 45 minutes to work as a team to uncover clues and solve puzzles to gain access to the key that will free you.

There’s no timeline for when the work will be complete, but Bennett said it involves city permits, the city planning department and the fire department. But, she said the good news is that when Escape Room Palm Springs is ready to open they will have more than two rooms ready to play.

All players who purchased a room will be contacted via email and phone.

News Channel 3 and CBS Local 2 will post updates on the new opening date as the organization works through the city’s permit process.
