Local media personality’s death investigated

Palm Springs police officers are investigating the death of a local media personality whose body was discovered in a running car Tuesday afternoon. They don’t suspect foul play in the death of 59-year-old Jim Fordyce, but the cause of death is still unknown.

According to police, a passerby reported a possible dead body inside a running car that was parked at 425 S. Sunrise Way at about 2:15 p.m. When emergency crews arrived, they determined Fordyce had passed away.

There were no indications that the cause of death was related to criminal activity, but officers said the Riverside County Coroner’s Office is investigating.

Fordyce was from Cathedral City and spent his professional life hosting and producing syndicated radio features ‘American Entertainment Report’ and ‘Coachella Valley Business Weekly’.

He was also a media consultant for Fordyce Media.
