3 severely injured in Thermal crash

A two vehicle crash in Thermal has sent three people to the hospital with severe injuries, including a three-year-old child.

Emergency crews were called to the crash at Jackson Street and Avenue 64 shortly after 10 a.m. The three victims were taken to Desert Regional Medical Center; two by ambulance and one via sheriff’s helicopter.

The cause of the crash is under investigation. Cal Fire said all three of the crash victims sustained major injuries.

The roadway was shut down while crews were on scene but was reopened at 11:30 a.m.
