Missing Yucca Valley woman found dead in her car two years later

It is a sad ending to a missing person’s case, that has been a mystery for over 2 years. On Facebook today, the family of Carla Ruth Reyes, of Yucca Valley, says the 52-year old was discovered deceased in her car on Monday.

According to the post by her daughter in law Maya Brand, ” It is with great sadness to share that my Mother In-Law, Carla Ruth Reyes, was found deceased in her car on Monday October 26, 2015. Some off-roaders came across her car after they decided to do some hiking. A lifelong struggle with alcoholism and depression had proved to be a battle she could not win. The stigma of suicide is always the hardest for the survivors. After 998 days of searching and waiting for answers, our family can begin the process of closure. I pray that Carla has found peace”

Deputy Munoz of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department says they got a call about a dead body found inside a car, South of Highway 62 and the Highway 177 interchange on Monday. The Riverside County Coroner’s Office has taken over the investigation. At this time they say no foul play is suspected.

Carla was last seen on 3rd of February 2013 as she drove away in her maroon colored 2002 Misubishi Galant. Reyes reportedly did not take her cell phone with her, only her medication and a blanket.
