Escaped fire camp inmate arrested outside LA spa

Authorities have arrested an inmate who walked away from a hand crew in Highland.

The Press-Enterprise reports 43-year-old Kent Lesporavsky walked away from the fire camp Nov. 4.

A state Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation spokesman says Lesporavsky was caught early Tuesday as he was getting ready to enter a spa in Los Angeles.

The state agency, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department and the U.S. Marshals Office worked together to locate the suspect.

Records show Lesporavsky is serving more than eight years in prison for transporting and selling marijuana, evading a peace officer while driving recklessly and resisting an officer.

He is now being held at a facility in Chino and faces escape charges.
