Palm Springs burglary suspect arrested at probation office
A Palm Springs man was in custody Wednesday morning accused in a home burglary. Police arrested Joshua Tuero, 31, Tuesday after a lengthy investigation.
He was accused of sneaking into an apartment on September 6 in the 2500 block of East Palm Canyon Drive while a resident was home. Police said Tuero entered through an unlocked front door stealing a car, a wallet and a credit card.
Riverside County sheriff’s deputies reportedly located the stolen vehicle the next day in Palm Desert. The suspect escaped, but deputies recovered the vehicle.
Tuero was already on probation for an earlier break-in.
He was arrested at the Riverside County Probation Department Office in Palm Springs while appearing fora scheduled visit. Tuero was taken into custody without incident and remained jailed Wednesday morning.
He’s facing felony charges of first-degree burglary, second-degree burglary, vehicle theft, possession of a stolen vehicle, identity theft, and violating his probation.
Tuero is scheduled to appear in court Monday.
