Holiday light show fundraiser for FIND Food Bank
A Rancho Mirage house has transformed into a holiday light show.
The bright lights are synchronized with music people can listen to through their car radios.
This is the seventh year UC San Diego electrical engineering student Austin Perri has put on the 20 minute show.
“There’s probably 80,000 light bulbs, three miles of extension cords and about 300 individual circuits that run at any given time. The show takes about 5 days to set up the physical aspects of it and about 200 hours of programming time,” said Perri.
Perri said the light show costs him about $200 to $300 more a month in electricity, but it’s worth it to help out the FIND Food Bank.
Perri asks people who come and watch the show to donate canned goods for the Find Food Bank. Monetary donations are also accepted for the non-profit.
In past years he’s donated nearly 50 pounds of food to the local organization.
The home is located at 72263 Desert Drive in Rancho Mirage. It’s near Highway 111 and Magnesia Falls.
