Mary Pickford Theater added as screening venue for PSIFF
Organizers of the 27th annual Palm Springs International Film Festival said they’re adding the UltraStar Mary Pickford Theater to the list of this year’s screening venues.
Officials said they chose to add the additional theater due to construction at Palm Springs High School, which will be operational again in time for the 2017 film festival.
The Mary Pickford Theater is located at 36850 Pickfair Street in Cathedral City.
According to the release, the festival will use two auditoriums (379 and 242 seats, respectively) each featuring stadium seating, 3D capability, available hearing impaired devices, convenient free covered parking and the Cinema Caf which offers an assortment of gourmet movie fare, featuring UltraStar’s famous specialty flavored popcorn and introducing and expanded menu including Panini sandwiches, salads, pizzas and much more.
“The addition of these superb auditoriums, with their excellent sound, ultra-comfortable seats, large screens and first-rate projection will not only help the Festival make up for the loss this year of the PSHS Auditorium while it is being refurbished, but will give Festival-goers another excellent option to diversify their film-going experience and enjoy the event,” said Festival Director Darryl Macdonald.
The film festival takes place January 1-11. Tickets for the festival go on sale December 21.
