Teens arrested for Desert Hot Springs car thefts

Two teens are in custody at juvenile hall following alleged car burglaries in Desert Hot Springs, police said Saturday.

Police say “several” juveniles were stealing tools from a white pickup, parked in the area of 13000 Palm Dr. around 4:40 a.m. Saturday. When police got there, they say the teens ran off. Police caught up with a 17-year-old male and 16-year-old male and arrested them.

Police say after further investigation, several other vehicles parked in the area were burglarized. The suspects also attempted to steal a parked car.

Both teens were arrested for auto theft and theft from a vehicle. Police say they are in juvenile hall.
