Suspect arrested after police find 2 people shot to death in Banning

The Banning Police Department has arrested a man suspected in a double homicide after discovering the bodies of two people who were shot to death in a home located in the 1400 block of High Street on Sunday.

Officers were called to the home at about 9 a.m. where they found the two gunshot victims deceased. During the investigation, authorities gathered information that led them to the suspected shooter, 28-year-old Michael Carl Camper of Banning.

They found Camper in a home in the 600 block of West Christie Street. He eventually surrendered to police after multiple agencies surrounded the residence.

He was booked into the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning.
