Isaac Amanios, 60, worked for the San Bernardino County Health Department as a health inspector for 11 years. His brother-in-law, Robel Tekleab, said his family is still trying to come to terms with his death. “It’s almost like a weird dream, a nightmare if you will, it’s unbelievable,” Tekleab said. “There’s definitely a hole created in the family.” Robel said what’s especially tragic is the fact that Isaac died of violence after he escaped violence in his native country. Isaac immigrated to the U.S. in 2000 with his wife and three children for a better life. His two sons and daughter are still in college. We’re told they will honor their father by getting their degrees and living lives he would be proud of.
