Over 60 sexual registrant compliance checks conducted, 1 arrested

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department and the Cabazon Station Investigation’s Bureau recently conducted a sexual registrant compliance sweep from December 12-17.

Deputies said they checked the homes of more than 60 registrants throughout Cherry Valley, Cabazon, Whitewater, North Palm Springs and the unincorporated city of Calimesa. According to the sheriff’s department, only one person was arrested for failing to be in compliance with court ordered terms.

Seven probation searches and one parole search took place during the operation.

Authorities said the sheriff’s department will continue the compliance enforcement effort with additional checks throughout the coming months.

If anyone has any information regarding a registrant who may be out of compliance, they are asked to contact Investigator Lane at the Cabazon Sheriff’s Station at (951) 922-7100 or email the Cabazon Station at CabazonStation@RiversideSheriff.org.
