Stolen Christmas puppies found after taken from 2 young girls in DHS

Two young girls in Desert Hot Springs have been reunited with their Christmas Boxer puppies that were taken during a home burglary on Monday, January 11.

On Tuesday, an unidentified person spotted a male and female walking with the dogs and recognized the missing pets from a Facebook posting, police Cpl. Chris Saucier said. The individual asked about the boxers and the two ran away, leaving the animals behind, the corporal said.

Desert Hot Springs police reported that the two girls received the Boxer puppies as Christmas presents, but about two and a half weeks later the puppies were stolen from their backyard during the home burglary.

The dogs were taken from the backyard of the family’s home located on Acoma Avenue. Officers said the home was also burglarized and electronics were taken.

It’s good to hear the dogs have been located and returned to the family, but police are still investigating the home burglary and searching for suspects. If you have any information about the incident, you’re asked to call the Desert Hot Springs Police Department at (760) 329-6411.
