CareerBuilder Challenge aims to turn fans into Valley homeowners
The Coachella Valley’s pro golf tournament looks a little different this year and it’s not just because the courses have changed. The CareerBuilder Challenge at PGA West in La Quinta is looking to highlight the desert in hopes of turning fans into homeowners.
“We’ve done some surveys and a lot of people who come here in the past have become seasonal residents here. We hope that that happens. It’s great for the Valley,” said Scott Easton, CareerBuilder Managing Director.
Teserra Outdoors and the new Signature homes at PGA West built a partnership to showcase desert golf lifestyle all weekend at the event.
“We’re the final new home community to be built here at PGA West. We have 230 new homes we’re building,” said Lisa Kossey, Options Coordinator for Signature at PGA West.
Kossey said eight of the homes have been sold and the hope is the tournament will attract more buyers. The homes range from $300,000 to $800,000.
Tournament spectators can tour the homes and enjoy the Teserra Outdoors experience with a putting green, pizza oven and spa in Bob Hope Square.
“Get people excited about California, about Palm Springs, about this event, a great new development and keep people here long term,” said Teserra Construction Manager, Darin Simmons.
