La Quinta home catches fire twice in 24 hrs

An investigation was underway Thursday morning after a La Quinta home caught fire for the second time in 24 hours.

Firefighters responded shortly before 1:30 a.m. to reports of a well-involved fire at a 1,900 square foot home on the 48600 block of Calle Esperanza.

The home is located in Laguna De La Paz, a gated community that borders Eisenhower Dr. and Washington Street.

Cal Fire confirms firefighters responded to the same home the day before, where they contained a fire that was linked to a water heater in the garage.

Damage from that incident was estimated at $160,000.

No injuries were reported in Wednesday morning’s fire.

It’s not clear how Thursday morning’s fire started or if there were any injuries.
